Im in my first career mode season since buying this game and ive seen the safety car three times. I have played for 1 and half season and so far i have around 10 races with safety car appearing 3.

No commentary racer recommended for you. The safety car comes into use during a race when the race director wants to reduce speed for safety reasons for instance after an accident or because the track is waterlogged after heavy rain.
